I’ll have more details here soon, but this is what is on my plate at the moment:
NOVELS
Deadwind Sea: The latest novel. Finished last year in Arizona and currently at the printer. Deadwind Sea is available on Kindle now, and will be out in paperback in December, 09.
zooTown: A NEARLY-completed novel I began last year. zooTown is a fictionalized account of my life in Missoula, sort of smearing together all the various times I’ve lived there. A few chapters from zooTown have already been published as short stories in lit mags, including “Raiding the Ritz”, “Smashing Laptops”, and “Salt of the Earth”. With any luck this sucker will be published in the Summer of 2010.
Nicodemus: This is the very first Comic idea I ever pitched. Freedom will pencil the GN someday, but for now I’ve decided to write the prose version at last. All I’ll say about this one for now is that it takes place in 19th century Japan, and some of the story is told from the PoV of a dog.
COMICS
Four new scripts in progress, all of them secret. Sorry!! Hopefully I’ll be able to release some info before too long. Meanwhile, Salvus is an on-going work in progress, and Sky Pirates of Neo Terra is about to start hitting shelves. Both have links on the main page, so be sure to check them out!
I recently finished a six-issue script for QEW Publications called “Void Xanadu”. One more re-write for the last issue and it’ll be in the can. This book is drawn by the very tallented Josh Mathus, and is probably looking at a 2010 or 2011 release.
Also, FutureMan, my long-awaited first “real” project with Freedom Drudge is chugging along nicely. Script is done, and 23 pages have been penciled. Inks (Will Childress) are up to page 12, and our lovely colorist Dusty Peterson just started making it shine.
FILM
Slowly but surely absorbing several production roles in the making of “Saving for the Day” with writer/director John Nilles. More updates to come!!
SHORT STORIES
My latest, A Very Ugly Man, is done and polished and needs a home. If anyone can recommend a good venue for literary fiction, please let me know. While we’re on the subject, I’m on the hunt for an agent. So if you’re an agent on the hunt for a Josh Wagner, drop me a line!
